Archives for May 2004

Today was Kayla’s first trip to New York, the state that is.   We left in the early afternoon to go visit Gretchen, Stosh and Sammy in Seneca Falls, about an hour outside Rochester where Renee and I first met.

Of course, not having been back to the University of Rochester campus in years, we just had to stop by and take a look around.  This is the result: one very happy baby all alone on the Eastman Quadrangle at 5 p.m. on the Friday before Memorial Day.

Rumor has it that on Monday, we’ll actually be going to nearby Waterloo, NY, the official birthplace of Memorial Day.

We had a great day today — with some extra vacation time that I need to use up before June 30, I took the day off and went with Kayla & Renee to Musical Magic, a 45-minute singalong session with musical instruments, puppets and the like. It felt a bit weird (I was, of course, the only dad in attendance), but yet at the same time it gave me a much stronger appreciation for the wonderful things Renee does with Kayla each day.
