OK — so now that we’re working with a high-speed Internet connection, we’re planning to keep the photos and video a bit more updated. Here’s a 1.4 MB video of Kayla’s first bath. It’s in Windows Media Player format.

At 4 a.m., I found myself laying in the fetal position on a cold floor in the baby’s room. Kayla lay in her crib talking and singing to herself. One can do a lot of thinking at 4 in the morning, especially if one is hiding from her 4 month old daughter and silently begging her to go to sleep. I decided that getting no sleep was not working for any of us and that it is time for Ms. Kayla to start sleeping in her own room, in her own bed. The books are right, I need to let her cry a little. I need to help her learn how to sleep without my assistance. I need to sleep too. Of course, she was up at 6 a.m. ready to play and talk to me. It is so hard to act like she is not entertaining, funny and adorable.
Anyway, I am off to the dentist today–another filling, another cap. Hopefully, I will get a nap this afternoon. In the meantime, I am elated that Kayla is now sleeping in her crib and that she got herself to go to sleep without my assistance.
