Archives for November 2003

At last Kayla is asleep! We have really had a busy week and are planning a slower one this week. Last Monday, Kayla had her 2 month shots and I think that I cried more than she did! Luckily Iris was available to hold my hand. Adam and I also celebrated our 3 year anniversary. It is hard to believe how much our lives have changed in a year and I would not change a thing.

Kayla is starting to recognize our faces and is sort of smiling at us (I would rather believe that than she has gas.) She is really kicking her feet and is starting to enjoy bathtime. Thanks to cousin Deborah, we have different bath gels to try in the bathtub. Tonight we used “Cold and Flu”–we will do everything we can to fight them off. Then we read “Goodnight Moon” and Kayla promptly went to sleep. Thus far we have really had a lot of success having Kayla sleep in the pack-n-play. By having her sleep there now, we are hoping to avoid any sleep problems when the three of us are in Baltimore.

Mommies group is going well and I am becoming friendly with a number of women. We all seem to be facing similar challenges and it feels good to know that there are other women going through the same sorts of things that I am experiencing.

That’s it for tonight. I will try to write more later this week.

Tonight, Kayla had dinner with her Mommy and Daddy and her friends the O’Donnells. Mary Claire, Tom and Madeline (below) got their first glimpse of Kayla — and just click on Madeline’s photo to see what she had to say when she met Kayla.
