Archives for July 2003

The major changes in our life have not affected Lulu as far as we know. Since I was laid off from Deloitte, July 24th, I have started working on “nesting” and getting the house ready for her arrival. We are meeting with Doula’s, interviewing pediatricians and have sold the bedroom furniture (I hope.) I am really looking forward to spending some quality time at home, resting and organizing. Everyone keeps telling me that this is for the best–but it is still hard to think that I need not drive 1 1/2 hours to Deerfield in the heart of rush hour anymore.

In the meantime, Lulu is growing well and I am measuring at 33 inches (I should be at 31) which is the larger side of normal but is still considered as normal. My target weight gain is 1/2-1 lb per week. Thus far, I am doing well. My blood pressure is great and I am still practicing my pre-natal yoga. Adam and I have new parents’ classes tomorrow at Northwestern. That should be interesting.

With less than 70 days to go until the due date, I am getting a little freaked out that we have not found a doula. I finally realized that these re-occuring dreams where I am forgetting to go to math class and procrastinating doing my Spanish homework may have something to do with not being ready for when the baby comes. All of the books say that pregnant women have strange dreams. I know that we still have to pick out a pediatrician (let alone a name for the baby) but I wonder what else I am forgetting.
